Underwriting
Litigation Analyst
Assess commercial claims for fundability: merits, documentation, counterparty capacity and the realistic route to recovery.
About the role
You will read claims the way an underwriter does, not the way a litigator does.
The question is never only whether a case can be won. It is whether the money can actually be recovered, from whom, and over what timeframe. You will work through case files, find what is missing, and put a defensible view in front of the funding committee.
This is a role for someone who is comfortable saying no. Most claims we look at are not funded, and being clear about why is the job.
What you will do
- Review incoming claims and assemble the underwriting picture
- Test documentation strength and identify evidential gaps early
- Assess counterparty solvency and the practical enforcement route
- Write the assessment note that goes to the funding committee
- Keep an honest record of why a claim was declined
What we are looking for
- Law degree, or a commercial background with real litigation exposure
- Comfortable reading contracts, pleadings and financial statements
- Writes clearly and briefly under time pressure
- Sound commercial judgement, and willing to argue for it
